We are pleased to announce that we are scheduling the in-person, social event at the following place and time.
STUMPY'S Hatchet House
4635 Wedgewood Blvd
Suite 101
Frederick, MD 21703
(301) 678-8679
Date/Time: 10/5/24, 2:00pm - 4:00pm
Invited: We want to encourage attendance and everyone to feel comfortable - (Members / non members / not yet members!!!). Since everyone will need to pay for themselves and/or their guests, please feel free to bring anyone who is at-least 21 years old: family, significant others, associates or friends; whoever you are comfortable with. Non-throwers are allowed to come join the social throwdown, but must be at-least 21 years old, and there is still a $15 fee plus tax if not throwing. Please let me know if you will attend, how many will be in your party, and how many will be throwing, so I can update the reservations to accommodate everyone.
Price: $40 for 2 hours for each person that is throwing.
$15 for each person that is not throwing.
I will reserve 2 axe throwing lanes to accommodate up to 20 attendees until we get a more accurate head count.
Training: Each person entering must go through a brief training session. Throwing coaches will instruct you on how to throw safely and will monitor the game. After about 15-20 minutes of training, most guests are hitting the target and honing in on the bullseye. When the group feels ready, it is encouraged to try a variety of hatchet and axe throwing target games. Instructions are in the pit, or you can ask a throwing coach.
Attire: During the warmer months, they recommend dressing in loose, cool clothing. Chill in the air? We do keep it cool, so a flannel, sweater, or sweatshirt is a good idea.
For safety purposes, we don’t allow open-toe shoes or sandals.
Food: Yes! They sell light snacks such as chips, pretzels, etc. You can also bring your own food if you want something different or more substantial. They also have soft drinks, water, iced tea, and Red Bull available for sale. Stumpy’s Frederick is BYOB – beer or wine only – and we have buckets of ice to keep ’em cold for you.
Also note: As this social gathering is not an official meeting, we will hold a separate, official, IEA (AARST) MD Chapter meeting (virtual); tentatively planned one afternoon the last week of September.
